Raúl Chambote

Raúl Chambote is Portfolio Manager for Economic Governance

Raúl Chambote has 20 years of experience as socio-economic development and governance analyst. Prior to joining the SPEED team in 2021, he served at the UN WFP as Program Policy Officer, at Rio Tinto as Principal Advisor for Government Relations & Stakeholder Engagement, at LO/FTF Trade Union as Program Adviser and also, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Mozambique as Third Secretary. 

Raúl Chambote has an extensive experience in working with CSOs on governance of natural resources/extractive industry and community governance systems. As a researcher he works on decentralization and local development, civic engagement for policy reforms for inclusive and integrated economic development. His work experience in public, private, International NGOs and CSOs sectors, either has manager, officer or advisor has been combined with research activity that led to some publications.

 

Raúl Chambote is a holder of Master’s degree (MSc.) in International Development, University of Birmingham, UK; Licenciatura in International Relations and Diplomacy, at Instituto Superior de Relações Internacionais, Maputo. Now, a PhD Student in Development and Society, working on Decentralization and Development in Mozambique, Faculty of Arts and Social Science, Universidade Eduardo Mondlane.
