The Pisgah Inn Lodge is situated at a specific marker on the Blue Ridge Parkway, at milepost 408.6, and it’s located to the south of Asheville, North Carolina. This spot sits at a high point, over 5,000 feet above sea level, making it the highest place you can stay overnight along the entire Parkway. It’s a very elevated position, providing some truly remarkable perspectives.

You can reach us by taking routes from highway 151 and also from highway 276. These roads offer pathways that lead you right to our location, making it relatively straightforward to find your way to our mountain haven. It's good to know these access points, as they are your main routes for getting here.

A little piece of advice: if your electronic mapping device is suggesting you leave the Parkway, it's probably giving you incorrect directions. We are located directly on the Parkway itself, so there's no need to exit it to find us. Just keep following the scenic route, and you’ll arrive right where you need to be, which is quite simple, actually.

To help you locate us with ease, you can use the provided links for Google Maps and Apple Maps. These will guide you directly to our spot, ensuring you have a smooth trip to the Pisgah Inn Lodge. Pisgah Inn Lodge - A Place with Deep Roots and Trails

The Pisgah Inn Lodge opens its doors each year starting in the early spring and remains open through the season when the leaves change color in the fall. This means you have several months to plan your visit and experience the beauty of the mountains during different times of the year, whether it's the fresh green of spring or the rich hues of autumn.

Not only is the Pisgah Inn Lodge the lodging option at the highest elevation, but it's also one of only two historic places to stay along the Blue Ridge Parkway, with the other being the Lodge at Peaks of Otter in Virginia. This makes our spot rather unique, offering a special connection to the Parkway’s past and its enduring charm. It’s a pretty special distinction, you could say.

The area around the Pisgah Inn Lodge offers more than just a place to sleep; it’s a hub for various outdoor activities. You’ll find historical lodging, pathways for walking and exploring, a spot for camping, an area for picnics, and, of course, the restaurant. There are also several points of interest nearby, providing plenty to see and do for those who enjoy the outdoors.

You can get onto a walking path from two different spots: the Buck Spring Gap Overlook and right from the Pisgah Inn Lodge itself. If you start your walk from the inn, you’ll travel a little over a mile to reach the old location of the Buck Spring Lodge. This older lodge was constructed in 1896 as a mountain escape for George Vanderbilt, the person who owned the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, so it has quite a bit of history attached to it.

It's important to note that the Pisgah Inn Lodge does not have its own dedicated information center for visitors. The closest place where you can find visitor information is the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor Center, which is located near Asheville, about 24 miles north along the Parkway. So, if you need detailed guidance, that's the place to head, apparently.
