Single Electronic Window Assessment [Janela Unica Electronica]

The purpose of this report is to evaluate what has occurred since the beginning of the roll-out of the Single Electronic Window (SEW) in Mozambique. It quantifies the impacts, considers which problems are “teething problems” and which are systemic and therefore likely to continue, and provides recommendations on how these matters can best be solved.

This Report  includes in its executive summary the main findings and recommendations to address those findings. Implementation has suffered some problems, but these are all quite common, can be overcome rapidly. All indications are that as long as some lessons are learned from the roll-out so far, the SEW will achieve its goal of expediting and simplifying the Customs management procedures for exports, imports and transit, as well as enhance the transparency of processes and resource mobilization.
