Trade and Investment Conference Registration

The U.S. Embassy in Maputo, Mozambique cordially invites you to participate in the U.S. Trade and Investment Conference that will take place on July 15 and 16, 2009.

The President of Mozambique, Armando Guebuza, and the Ministers of Agriculture, Energy, Industry and Commerce, Tourism, and Natural Resources will participate in this event aimed at informing U.S. companies of business opportunities in key sectors in Mozambique.

The Investment Promotion Center (CPI) will open a session providing an overview of how to best enter the Mozambican market and utilize its services. A number of break-out sessions are also scheduled in the top sectors for foreign investment in Mozambique: Agriculture, Energy, Commerce, Tourism, Mining and Natural Resources. Each session will be hosted by the Minister of the sector, moderated by the specialist in the sector, and attended by U.S. businessmen already working in the area in Mozambique.

The conference will include a networking reception co-hosted by the U.S. Embassy, in which prominent Mozambican businessmen and government officials will have an opportunity to interact with prospective U.S. investors.

On July 16th, U.S. Embassy Maputo with their partners will arrange one-on-one meetings for U.S. investors. As a result, please, attach a brief bio of your company to assist us in scheduling productive meetings for your company. This bio will also be used in promotional materials for the conference and to assist in match-making exercises for your company.

The total cost of participating in the conference will be USD 300. Payments can be made in checks (USD or meticais) or cash (USD, meticais or rand). Checks in USD need to be drawn on U.S. banks only. If you are coming from abroad, there will be a registration booth the day of the conference where payments will be made. Conference fee includes lunch, coffee/tea and a cocktail reception.
